100 Thieves has officially announced Jonathan “Silenx” Huntington as his replacement for Nick “Nitr0” Cannella, who is currently on paternity leave. Silenx will join the team as a temporary substitute during the first qualifying tournament for the Valorant Champions Tour. 100 Thieves will compete in this tournament along with 127 other teams for a place in the closed qualifier.

Nitr0 has been a critical part of their success since the team was formed in October. Since then, the team has been crowned the best team in North America by winning First Strike, ValorantFirst big tournament. Valorant Champions Tour will be similar to First Strike in how teams qualify and compete for the prize. However, instead of multiple closed qualifiers, there will now be “Challengers”, “Masters” and “Champions”. Each of these tiers will determine which teams advance and which teams are left in the dust.

Silenx previously played for the amateur team beastcoast in the Pittsburgh Knights Before Christmas tournament. Prior to beastcoast, he played on various other amateur teams such as Overtime Gaming, Sakura Storm, and HIA Money Crew. All of these teams have had minor success, but they advanced their careers in Valorant.

Silenx proves it can compete at the top with 100 Thieves

100 Thieves is a prestigious organization that has shown a hunger to win in the Valorant scene. They showed this hunger when they defeated TSM in the First Strike Finals 3-1 in a best-of-five series. Since then, 100T has not shown what they are fully capable of after winning the biggest tournament in Valorant. They have been considerably absent from recent tournaments like the Nerd Street Gamers Winter Championship. However, they have most likely been hiding strategies while practicing with their newest member.

Silenx has been on teams that haven’t shown great results in lower B / C tournaments. If 100 Thieves is interested in someone like him, that means he is a force to be reckoned with. His debut match with 100T is on Wednesday, January 27 in the qualifying tournament for Valorant Champions Tour.
