A Recap Of PMWL East 2020 Day 1



The opening weekend of the PUBG MOBILE World League (PMWL) Season Zero is currently being played with a total of 20 teams competing. The results of the opening weekend will be used to divide the teams into 5 groups of 4 teams each for the championship match which will take place from July 14 to August 2. The top 16 teams on the scoreboard will advance to the final where the new PMWL East 2020 champion will be crowned.

Although 20 teams qualified for the PMWL East, only 19 teams played on day 1 with the final match where OR and TeamIND clashed with teams of 3 men due to certain issues. FreeStyle, the Pakistani list could not compete due to the recently promulgated PUBG ban in the country.

A total of five games were played on the first day of PMWL East and Bigetron RA won two consecutive chicken dinners to climb to the top of the table with 89 points, followed by Orange Rock with 64 points and Yoodo Gank with 49 points.

Match 1 – Erangel

T1 Missile took the first blood dropping the VELMOTH from Valdus Esports. After a brief skirmish with Bigetron’s Zuxxy, the MegaStars clashed against GXR Celtz as they took Celtz by surprise. The IND team took an aggressive game against Megastars and Slayer released Encore. BTR took part in a bridge camp fight against the TSM entity and Luxxy withdrew 3 members of the TSM entity, including Jonathan, ZGOD and Neyoo while Zuxxy finished ClutchGod. The final fight was a face-off against the 3 players from BTR against T1 Sayden and Kratos from Team IND. Sayden fell first, after which Kratos took out Zuxxy while Luxxy killed him. BTR picked up the first PMWL East Match 1 chicken dinner.

Match 2 – Vikendi

The second match started with a skirmish between Team Secret and NoChanceTeam and the latter eliminated almost all of Secret’s members with BiuBiu surviving. As the circle closed in GXR Celtz, Attanki eliminated a player from Morph and Paradoxx from MegaStars ended up removing the NoChanceTeam offdels and damaging Heineken. Orange Rock took part in a skirmish against BOX Gaming and damaged 2 of their players. Gill eliminated BreaK and GXR Celtz eliminated the last member of Team Secret, BiuBiu. No Chance’s Heineken released VeXe from Megastars and Owais killed Heineken. After that, the SynerGE team eliminated CONCEPT and PUFFER from the King of Gamers Club, but later fell to OR Gill, Mavi and Sc0utOP. A fight broke out between GXR Celtz and U Level Up and Celtz eliminates 3 members. BTR kept a low profile throughout the match, but ended up scoring 8 kills with OU not far behind to finish the game with 11 huge kicks. BTR picked up its second consecutive PMWL East Day 1 chicken dinner.

Match 3 – Miramar

The match started with a blow, as T1 Sayden killed the Valdus GODDARD while RRQ was fighting with NoChanceTeam. Within minutes, TSM Entity’s Neyoo and Jonathan were eliminated by Team Secret. ZGOD eliminates BiuBiu and MADTOI before being overthrown by uHigh. ClutchGod released MADTOI, iShot, uHigh and completed BiuBiu. SynerGE hired Team IND and removed KRATOS while VeXe from Megastars removed members from U Level Up. Yoodo released VeXe from Megastars as a three-way fight broke out between TSM Entity, BTR and SynerGE. Luxxy falls to ZGOD while Ted releases ClutchGod. ZGOD Microboy grenades hitting and killing Luxxy. The IND team faces KOG and T1 at the same time, hitting 1 member each. KOG’s CONCEPT eliminates Slayer. ZGOD releases BTR Ryzen and Zuxxy releases KOG BRAGA. ZGOD takes the opportunity to hit Zuxxy before falling on Microboy. The match ends with Morph obtaining a chicken dinner followed by BTR and Team IND arriving in 3rd position.

Match 4 – Sanhok

As soon as the teams fall on Paradise Resort, a fight breaks out between Valdus Esports and Megastars with Owais getting knocked down, but Megastars manages to eliminate the entire Valdus team by losing only Owais in the process. VeXe receives two hits while RRQ faces SynerGE by eliminating Ted and zigsaw while AustinX releases D2E. RRQ ended up eliminating Seervi and defeated 3v1 against AustinX who was eliminated. U Level Up fought TSM Entity while ChaXin eliminated ClutchGod and BOX Gaming eliminated Zuxxy from BTR. Orange Rock ends up eliminating 2 members of RCS in an aggressive game while Team IND and GXR Celtz fall respectively in the playing area and Box Gaming. NovaGodlike eliminated U Level Up from the match, after which a four-way fight erupted with OR Gill eliminating BTR Luxxy and Zuxxy while RRQ and GXR Celtz fell between them and the playing area at Paradise Resort. The match ends with OR esports tied with RRQ Athena with 12 death points each but the former pockets the chicken dinner of the 4th game of PMWL East Day 1.

T1 and Valdus Esports fell near Rozhok and began the skirmish with T1 removing 3 members from Valdus. Meanwhile, SynerGE fought U Level Up with Seervi who released Winter. RRQ Athena ends up eliminating the Morph players near Georgopol. ClutchGod of the TSM entity ended up eliminating Yoodo ManParang with Jumper knocking out Jonathan. KOG eventually joined the fight and hits ClutchGod and NoChanceTeam eliminates ZGOD. Jonathan, now relaunched, releases ChocoNutX and the game ends with Valdus Esports having his first chicken dinner of PMWL East 2020 followed by GXR Celtz and KOG.

Technical problems during PMWL East 2020 Day 1

PMWL East 2020 was originally scheduled to start on July 10 at 5:30 p.m. IST and had to be postponed after players using the iOS version encountered several issues. Just an hour before scheduled games, PUBG Mobile and other apps started to crash at launch. PUBG Mobile took a statement recognizing the problem and decided to postpone PMWL East and West 2020. The first day of PMWL East had been postponed until the next day, Saturday July 11, at 5.30pm IST.

TSM Entity player Jonathan went to Instagram Live to talk about ping issues encountered by players in the first game of PMWL East Day 1. TSM Entity ended the day at the bottom of the table, but team fans still have hope for the next few days of PMWL East 2020. During the last match of the day, Match 5, Viru from Orange Rock could not join in time because he was called back in an interview and OR and Team IND ended up with teams of 3 men for the PMWL Est 2020.
