Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Huge DLC Rumours

Assassin’s Creed seemed to do the impossible after the disaster of Assassin’s Creed Unity. It felt like they knew that something was wrong with their yearly releases of Assassin’s Creed. We still got Assassin’s Creed Syndicate that is a very underrated game, but that’s for an article for another day.

Then we got Assassin’s Creed Origins after a two-year wait. They did make the mistake of releasing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey the year after. With both games being way too similar, they cheapened the experience of both of them. Then they did the right thing with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with a two-year wait. It looks like another change is on the way for the Assassin’s Creed series.

DLC instead of full game

The change from a yearly to a two-year release schedule has many rumours and speculation pointing to a game releasing in 2022. The game was rumoured to be set in Medieval Europe. It looks like we might not be getting a game in 2022. Instead, they will have massive DLC.

This is not far from the end of the Viking era; it will be closely connected. It is very likely we will be playing as Eivor in this DLC in the crusade. The rumour is that the DLC will show the Templar taking over after the Viking Age. This new expansion is said to be instead of a new game in 2022.

When could we get a full game?

If we do get a new expansion that isn’t part of the already announced season pass. It seems like we definitely won’t be getting a new game in the series in 2022. This makes it very likely that it will skip another year and a new game coming out in late 2023. Rumoured Medieval Europe will most likely not happen as it feels way too similar to the rumoured DLC.

It could be the extra time is being put into a location heavily requested by fans. This being Japan, one of the most requested locations for the Assassin’s Creed game. If this is the case, it will make sense that they are taking extra time to perfect the location.
