on

This CDL London Home Series kicked off yesterday. It is the 12th week of action in the inaugural season of the franchised league. With only one week of regular season action remaining after CDL (Call of Duty League), the event is crucial for each and every team in attendance.

Teams Attending

In case you haven’t been following the league as closely, here are the teams competing at the CDL London Home Series this weekend.

Group A

  • London Royal Ravens
  • Seattle Surge
  • OpTic Gaming Los Angeles
  • Florida Mutineers

Group B

  • Paris Legion
  • Dallas Empire
  • New York Subliners
  • Los Angeles Guerrillas

CDL London Home Series Overview

There are two top teams in attendance; Dallas Empire and Florida Mutineers. Both of these teams are battling it out for top spot, so whoever gets the edge this weekend could reap the rewards come playoffs.

The remaining teams are all battling it out in the mid table and bottom spots in the league. With the bottom two teams not receiving any prize pool in playoffs and Champs, it’s vital that teams scrape as many seeding points as possible. This is all in order to put them in the best position possible come the Call of Duty League Playoffs.

CDL London Homes Series Day 1 Recap

Four games take place on the opening day of all CDL Home Series events. The opening rounds of each group are played out, setting up the rest of the weekend. Below is a quick recap of each four games.

London Royal Ravens vs. Seattle Surge

50 points separated the teams in the standings heading into the event. London are sat in 7th place, in the mid table battle for best seeding. Meanwhile Seattle have had a disappointing season and are tied in last place.

The overall season performance was highlighted fully as London took the season in a fairly comfortable 3-1 fashion. Whilst they aren’t technically on home soil due to COVID preventing a physical home series event. It must still be nice for London to kick their home event off with a win.

OpTic Gaming Los Angeles vs Florida Mutineers

Majority of people immediately wrote this off as a Mutineers victory due to their recent dominant performances. However, the series was much tighter than expected. OpTic pushed them all the way to the final map, where Florida clutched up to take the series 3-2.

Paris Legion vs Dallas Empire

Over in Group B a miserable season continued for Paris. Whilst they’re not in bottom spot, they haven’t been able to pull anything together in recent weeks. After being blown out in the Hardpoint, they went on to lose the series 3-1.

New York Subliners vs Los Angeles Guerillas

5th place versus 12th place in the league, the result was as you could expect. The New York Subliners dominated the series, taking a convincing 3-0 victory. New York have really turned their season around in the past few Home Series events. They could be dangerous heading into the playoffs.

Preparing for CDL London Home Series Day 2
