Apple released update 13.6.1 for iOS and iPadOS on Wednesday, releasing bug fixes for storage and displays.

A new version of iOS and iPadOS is now available for download for all compatible devices (those that can run iOS 13 and iPadOS 13).

No, we’re not talking about iOS 14 – although it will likely happen soon. Rather, this is version 13.6.1.

So, iOS 13.6.1 is all about bug fixes, but it looks like pretty big bugs and deserve to be addressed immediately.

There may also be unlisted fixes, so we recommend that you download this update soon even if you are not aware of having any of the above issues.

What does the update contain?

This is a minor update, as the numbering suggests – it would have been iOS 13.7 had it been larger. But minor doesn’t mean unimportant. In fact, the updates are all important.

If you’ve seen a green tint on your iPhone screen, well, that’s not great, is it? This, Apple says, is fixed in this update and it was due to a thermal management issue. Although this is not very common, it is good that it is fixed now.

IOS 13.6.1 Update

The update can be installed from Settings> General> Software update.

It included fixes for three major bugs that affect some users. Official release notes.

  • Fixes an issue where unnecessary system data files may not be automatically deleted when available storage is low
  • Fixes a thermal management issue that caused some screens to have a green tint
  • Fixes an issue where exposure notifications could be disabled for some users
