Get toxic with Caustic in the Apex Legends Chaos Theory Collection Event

We’ve just wrapped up the second anniversary collection event, but Respawn wasted no time preparing another event for the upcoming Switch release of Apex legends. The Chaos Theory Collection Event is caustic themed and will add many more cosmetics, a city takeover, new game types, and in-game items for Apex legends. Starting on March 9, you can experience new thrills and chills. Maybe all that Nox Gas stuff isn’t really something to expect. However, the rest of the update is certainly exciting.

We don’t usually have collection events that close together, but the Switch launch is a good reason to do another. This marks the long-awaited debut of Apex legends on the popular Nintendo console and also presents new opportunities for PC gamers. Now you can play with friends regardless of the platform. Also, there is a sweet Pathfinder skin that you can claim if you have a Switch. Just download the game and link your accounts to receive a stylish white and red skin.

Kings Canyon’s new map location will be a popular new destination starting March 9. The water treatment location has been redone and renamed Caustic Treatment. Those two words don’t exactly fit together positively, do they? There is now a chemical facility that looks a bit like the original location, however it now has many gas tanks. Players can risk death by deploying the facility’s gas canisters to expose gold items. Without a doubt, it will be a risk worth taking as long as you do not meet enemies in the middle of the fumes.

Now features more storms of death

The next noteworthy addition is the new playlist called Ring Fury Escalation. In this LTM acquisition, you will have to worry about Ring Flares in addition to the normal Closing Ring. Ring Flares work in reverse to normal Ring. These will appear randomly on the map and expand as the matches progress. Fortunately, you will be able to counter them with a new item called Heat Shield. And you will definitely want to master this new element, because the Ring Flares will get more aggressive with each passing day of the LTM.

Heat shields are a new permanent item that serve as bubble shields that protect players from ring damage for a limited time. The Heat Shields have some cool features. For starters, you can store them in a new “survival” inventory space for up to two. Heat shields will last as long as they are deployed within the zone, but the damage from the ring will begin to consume the item’s health. That means these will collapse over time and won’t last long in the mighty endgame rings. Still, these will have a huge impact on how Apex is played going forward. Heat shields not only protect players from ring damage, but also speed up revs and wear times for healing items. Expect to see new strategies implemented by enemy teams, and hopefully exploits free.

You can look forward to more limited-time cosmetics that will be available to unlock or purchase along with a reward track that can be completed by completing daily challenges. Respawn didn’t list all of the cosmetics in today’s official blog post, but we will collect everything for you and have a separate guide on all the new skins you can expect to acquire soon. There’s even a new Bangalore relic that looks just as deadly as her.
