Is Red Dead Online Just A Pay-To-Win Game Mode?

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a beautiful game and it’s single-player campaign tells a great story. It has received a ton of praise and it was decided to launch a Red Dead Online Standalone version.

It may sound like a steal for $4.99, however, user reviews explain it as a way for Rockstar to make another stream of income with its gold bar purchases and its endless grind.

Is Red Dead Online Just A Pay-To-Win Game Mode?

User reviews write, “The whole point of this game is to waste the player’s time or take their money. It takes so long to get the in-game currency and I strongly believe that if you took the grinding elements out of this game there would be nothing left of it. There’s barely anything to do in this game besides grind for gold and do PVP.”

“They nerfed daily challenges so new players have to pay for content”

“Basically You pay MONEY for the game, only to play a game Literally filled with microtransactions and paywalls everywhere , Every fun activity you wanted to do, will be behind gold currency which needs too much grind that’s not fun. These practices in gaming community shouldn’t be supported”

While it maintains a very positive review on Steam, it looks like there are some red flags to be aware of. However, if you’re not afraid of the grind or micro-transactions, maybe you’ll love the game.
