League of Legends series Arcane coming to Netflix this year

After finding much success with Castlevania Y The Wizard (which is based on the books, but come on), Netflix is slated to have another title release related to the game this year. Arcane, an animated spin-off of the ever-popular Riot League of Legends, was announced in 2019 and will debut in 2020. But you know what happened and many plans were delayed. However, the show will finally emerge this fall. What is another six months of waiting right now, right? We don’t even know much about it.

The debut window was announced by the NetflixGeeked Twitter account along with a 19-second trailer. It doesn’t show much, but it certainly shows that Jinx and Vi are going to appear prominently. When Arcane makes its debut, it will supposedly be an origin story for several League of Legends characters, mainly those from Zaun and Piltover. Aside from those juicy goodies, we still don’t know much more about the show’s plot, the cast, or how upset the fans are going to get. Since it’s based on a video game, I’m going to take a chance and say that the answer to the latter is “probably a lot.”

Allied with some legends

Riot funded Arcane independently, which is not surprising given the huge amounts of cash at your disposal. The animation is in charge of Fortiche Productions, a French CGI studio that works on video games, music videos and commercials. League of Legends Fans will certainly recognize Fortiche’s work, as the studio has made several videos for the game, including Jinx’s “Get Jinxed” music video. We are all very interested in seeing how the show turns out, but we will have to be patient and wait a little longer before seeing the characters up close for minutes instead of watching them from above like birds. . MOBA, right?
