Monster Hunter Rise PC Version Confirmed for 2022 Release

In a statement from producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise is scheduled for release in early 2022. This news comes a month before the game’s release for Nintendo Switch. The information comes from an interview with Gamesradar.

As you know, Monster Hunter Rise is coming to Switch at the end of March. In response to a lot of fan feedback, we’ve decided to move forward with a PC version as well, which will be released in early 2022, “he said.” It’s still in development so we can’t share too much, but that will come. early next year. “

This PC release follows the same pattern as Monster Hunter: World’s initial release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 26, 2018, before being released for PC on August 9 of the same year. However, in Tsujimoto’s words, the PC version will be released much later after the Switch version.

Nintendo may have paid for the timed exclusivity of the game, which is why the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise will release one year instead of its Switch counterpart. Capcom may also want more time for the PC version to be more polished, as the Monster Hunter: World PC release was not in the best shape in the early days of its release.

With Monster Hunter Rise PC looming and following the pattern of World, there is also a clear possibility that Rise will also receive a Master Rank expansion, much like World got the Iceborne expansion.

In previous Monster Hunter games, Capcom would release the initial version, then eventually follow it to get an “Ultimate” version, which adds a G rank, the rank after High Rank. On Iceborne, it was called “master rank.”

Personally, I prefer the release of the World and Iceborne expansion as it means not having to start over at the low rank and work your way up to the high rank and then the master rank. Hopefully Monster Hunter Rise follows the same structure and we get a G / Master rank expansion.

However, my biggest hope is that Capcom adds crossplay for Rise, allowing Switch and PC players to play together. As it is not an inherently competitive game and relies on cooperative teamwork, Monster Hunter could greatly benefit from bringing players from different platforms together.

And it would also have saved me from buying it a second time on PC to be able to play with friends. Monster Hunter Rise will be released on March 26, 2021.
