PlayStation Play At Home Returns Next Month With More Free Games And Anime

Sony has confirmed the return of PlayStation’s Play At Home initiative, which is slated to kick off early next month to bring fans a wave of new free games and entertainment.

The announcement began with a little reflection on 2020 and the impact of the global pandemic on many communities, including our own. It is because of these “historic times” that Sony has been keen to give back to gamers, giving fans “something to look forward to and another reason to stay socially and safely away” as efforts continue to return to form. of normality. To make security more attractive, Play At Home will be offering free games and other forms of entertainment for the month of March.

In April 2020, the Play At Home initiative was created, offering both Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey as free gifts. Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Jim Ryan said in his announcement that “I like to think that they’ve helped make the year a little easier.” As the influence of the pandemic continues to spread, Ryan and co. decided it was high time to bring this program back.

The 2021 Play At Home initiative officially starts on March 1 and will run until June. According to Sony, here is what PlayStation fans can expect for the next few months:

Ratchet & Clank PS4 will be free from March 1 on PlayStation Store. It will start from March 1 at 8 p.m. Pacific and will be offered as a free game until March 31 at the same time. Once players redeem the game, it’s up to them to keep it, making the Insomniac Games a treasure to own for as long as PlayStation gamers see fit.

As of March 25, Sony is offering an extended access period for new subscribers to Funimation and Wakanim for countries where these services are available. For those who love a good anime story, this streaming service is a solid way to enjoy plenty of favorites, even if you’re like me and just want to bundle up in a cover burrito to gush out of the sports anime. .

The CEO promises that this is just the start of what Play At Home 2021 will have to offer and that more entertainment and gaming giveaways will be announced over the next two months.
