Pokkén Tournament DX Free To Play For A Week… Next week,

Now, it isn’t a conventional Pokémon title, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad! Now there’s a Pokkén Tournament DX free trial from 29 July to 4 August. Bandai Namco’s Nintendo title Pokkén Tournament DX was the first game to be released on the Nintendo Switch.

Originally featuring in a Japanese arcade, Pokkén Tournament DX is a strange title in the Pokémon franchise. For some reason, people seem against it. I, personally, think it’s a fun take on an otherwise largely unchanged game series. However, unlike the ever-popular Mystery Dungeon games, Pokkén Tournament DX just didn’t seem to be it. Still, it performed well and it sold well over a million copies so… I guess enough people still rate it.

It sold over a million copies by March 2018, was nominated for Best Fighting Game at The Game Awards in 2016, and the WiiU version has an average critic score of 76 on Metacritic.

Whether you are unsure, or a fan of previous Pokkén games, you can now try it out on your Nintendo Switch for a short period! Also, the game should be discounted in some regions if you like it that much. Save data reportedly carries over, so don’t worry about that!

The Pokkén Tournament DX Free Trial Is Only Available To Those With Nintendo Switch Online

Sadly, you’ll need a Nintendo Switch Online membership if you want to give Pokkén Tournament DX a go! Although, unlike PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live, Nintnedo Switch Online is a lot cheaper so it may be worth looking into regardless. With one, you also get access to a whole load of retro games so it kinda pays for itself!
