Rust March Update Introduces An Underground Tunnel Network To Connect Different Parts Of The Map

It’s March and that means it’s time for another Rust update. This update introduces a network of sophisticated underground tunnels and new game mechanics to go with them.

This rail network connects different areas of the map, and you can ride the rails with working carts and meet tunnel dwellers along the way.

The rail network connects major landmarks scattered across the map of Rust, such as existing military tunnels and the launch site. Everything will be clearly presented on the map.

These tunnels are not just dark, lifeless holes, but a land of opportunity, loot and precious items, and a population of wicked tunnel dwellers who don’t like to be disturbed.

You don’t have to go through the tunnels either. If you have fuel, you can hop into one of two work-to-drive carts located at each station. These can take damage, especially if you come across other trolleys on the tracks, but you can fix them.

This is an interesting update that adds a whole new dimension to the map. Fighting in the tunnels will likely be a lot of fun, and you can expect some work cart chaos on the run.

In addition to the new tunnels and mechanics, there are three new slots located in Bandit Town, with payouts of up to 6,000 Scrap Metal. Whatever your take on slots, they are here to stay.

The full patch notes will be released at 7 p.m. GMT / 11 a.m. PST tonight. There should be more information on how the tunnels work and some details on server maintenance to come.

Hopefully there might be some info about Rust for consoles as well. Fans have been eagerly awaiting news of when to expect the game to fully release on Xbox, but nothing is always guaranteed.

That being said, the game has entered closed beta for Console Edition and there was a recent trailer that suggests the game may be coming sooner rather than later.

Good news for Facepunch and Double Eleven, as Valheim has seen success over the past few weeks, and the Console Edition just might be what it takes to put Rust back on the map.
