The Prodigal Spawn’s sidequest and the Shattered Mirror achievement

Infernal point puzzled me in many ways. These instances include Prodigal Spawn’s side quest and achievement “Shattered Mirror” and the ultimate ending associated with it.

Note: Let’s get this out of the way: Infernal pointThe achievement “Shattered Mirror” is currently annoying. I will explain later.

Hellpoint Guide: Meeting the Prodigal Spawn

There’s a little bit of confusion as to how / when the Prodigal Spawn, huh, breeds. I will pass on some of my findings.

Note: This is not 100% confirmed, but you may have to beat the interface boss at least once (also known as reaching New Game + mode) in order for Prodigal Spawn to appear later.

(1) The first time I met the Prodigal Spawn was in the Arisen Dominion area. It appeared on the ground, just above the Grand Gallery teleporter.

Note: You must quickly talk to him all while the surrounding mobs are shooting at you (funny moments).

(2) Then, it should appear on the third floor of the Observatory with a view of the teleporter. Unfortunately, I didn’t see it here during my games.

(3) Then you must kill Defas Nemundis, the boss in Arisen Dominion, and the Prodigal Spawn will appear in Port Issoudun. It’s on the bottom floor of the entrance / tram area, and there it will open the locked door.

At this point, you should know about the A.I. of the architect patch since it will be a dialogue option.

Anyway, this secret path has a Black Hole Hour camera. Meanwhile, the looping racer has some more loot (i.e Catalyst Conductor, Channeler of Hell).

Note: You need to collect the Template: Heir to Chaos (a quest item / blueprint). The commutator here also opens to a section near the Issoudun Silo port.

(4) Then you will meet the Prodigal Spawn in the Alma Mater building. From the gallery area, take the long staircase that leads to the balcony.

Prodigal Spawn is here and will ask you to create the Heir to Chaos using the nearby Hidden 3D Printer.

When finished, it will teleport.

The Sentient, Spawn, Shattered Mirror achievement and the final ending

The Prodigal Spawn will fight with you along with the Sentient in Infernal pointThe boss’s final battle. You can check out our royal ending / final boss guide if you need more help.

Note: The encounter could also fail, leaving you in outer space until you press Alt + F4, reload your save, and redo everything.

If you defeat them successfully, you will get a three second scene where the Spawn dies. It just leads to another New Game + intro where the author says [paraphrase]:

You and me are the same; All this speaks of parallel universes. I will not tell anyone your secret. This is your kingdom now.

That is technically Hellish pointDefinitive ending. Oh, and again, the related achievement, “Shattered Mirror,” is buggy. It won’t complete even after doing Prodigal Spawn’s side quest or killing him.

As for why it stumped me, it’s because I thought I screwed up the search due to various errors and the achievement didn’t show up. It turns out that I apparently got the definitive ending already in a previous NG + game.
