TSM apologize for insensitive tweet

TSM’s social media manager Duncan “Dunc” Cox has issued an apology for his offensive tweet following TSM’s back-to-back losses.

TSM’s official Twitter account tweeted a remixed image of the meme “Are you winning, son?” In this meme, instead of the son at his desk, he is hanging from the ceiling with his chair overturned. Any joke about suicide is unacceptable, and Dunc acknowledged it on social media after the tweet.

Dunc tweeted a thread with his sorry, stating that he was wrong to use the meme and that he would not allow it to happen again. He continued his apology, stating that he initially didn’t realize the context of the meme when he tweeted it. The apology ends with him advocating for mental health and stating that the subject of suicide is nothing to joke about.

The tweet came after Valorant’s TSM roster lost to 100 Thieves during the Valorant Champions Tour and his League of Legends roster lost to Dignitas. While the loss to Dignitas was bitter for TSM fans, 100 Thieves removing them from the VCT was even more heartbreaking. Due to this loss, TSM will not be joining the top eight teams in the Masters event later this month.

TSM issues a statement on mental health

Shortly after Dunc’s tweet exploded on the official Twitter account, TSM issued a statement regarding the situation. A TwitLonger titled “Mental Health Matters” addressed the situation and how mental health affects us all. They also endorse Dunc’s various attempts to apologize, assuring his fans that it was indeed a mistake. TSM asked fans to refrain from personal attacks or threats against Dunc or the organization.
