Published

on

PUBG Mobile 2 could be announced as early as next week, according to prominent data miner PUBG PlayerIGN. The reliable leaker revealed that the new game will be available on Android and iOS and will likely be announced during the ongoing PUBG Global Invitational.S 2021 event. PUBG Mobile was one of the main battle royale games, and the new title could assert Krafton’s dominance in the mobile gaming market. It is currently unknown whether the new title will be available in India, with the original PUBG Mobile title still being banned in the country. Reports that PUBG Mobile was in the works first surfaced in January, and the most recent rumors suggest the game will be announced at PGI.S. Here’s everything we know about PUBG Mobile 2 so far.

PUBG Mobile 2: Everything We Know So Far

PUBG Mobile 2 is set to deliver a new take on the popular battle royale game with new in-game elements. According to PlayerIGN, these are the PUBGM 2 elements that were leaked on Weibo:

Located in 2051

The next title is set in the future and will feature futuristic weapons, items, and gadgets. The title could follow in Apex Legends’ footsteps and bring high-tech abilities and arsenal to all players.

New card

PUBG Mobile 2 will feature a brand new map in the future, but it’s currently unclear if that will differ much in terms of game mechanics.

Coming to Android and iOS

The next game is expected to be announced next week for Android and iOS.

PUBGM2 was first dubbed Project XTRM, and PlayerIGN reported on January 6 that Krafton was indeed working on a sequel to the hugely popular PUBG Mobile. It’s unclear whether the next game will replace its predecessor or remain a standalone game with new game mechanics set in the future.

PUBG Mobile 2 release date

The PUBG Global Invitational.S 2021 event is underway and the game is expected to be announced next week. The global esports event will end on March 28. We should receive information from Krafton in the next few weeks if the rumors are true.

Will PUBGM2 be available in India?

PUBG Mobile has been banned in India because it was developed by Chinese developer Tencent and not by Krafton, the Korean studio behind PUBG PC. If PUBGM2 is fully developed by Krafton, a ban cannot be imposed on the next title. With no official announcement yet, Indian fans will have to wait and see if the next title will be available in India after PUBG Mobile was banned last year. Krafton has reportedly been working to get the ban on PUBG Mobile lifted, but there has not yet been official news regarding the title’s return to the country.
