Viego disabled after bug allowed him to one-shot towers

Riot Games temporarily disabled the most recent League of Legends champion Viego after discovering a game-breaking bug that allowed Viego to make one-shot towers and quickly end games.

The dark stamp stacking error

Players can no longer choose Viego during Champion Pick after a bug made its way into the rift. Players who paired the Dark Seal element while playing this champion, were able to hit towers and inhibitors. To fix the issue, Riot eliminated the Champion Select champion with no notice of when he will return.

This mistake adds to several problems that Viego raises, in addition to its already high ban rate. Stacking Dark Seal on Viego allows you to gain an infinite amount of ability power. If a player were to possess an enemy with his passive, Sovereign Domination, and were killed immediately after, Viego returns with 65,534 stacks on his item. This adds to his AP, making him unstoppable and incredibly powerful. Additionally, this bug also gives him a lot of movement speed, allowing him to teleport anywhere on the map.

Taking advantage of a lagoon

For many players who used Viego in the ranked individual queue, this mistake made winning games incredibly easy. There is a possibility that the bug started after a patch 11.5 bug fix. “Viego no longer loses Mejai’s Soulstealer and Dark Seal stacks when possessing an enemy, and now gains Mejai’s and Dark Seal stacks from enemies he owns,” the patch notes read. Several Reddit users explained the Dark Seal loophole created after the new patch was released.

According to several complaints from Twitter, this bug had been active for several hours before Riot took action. Other than a ban notice on its official website, it is unknown how long it will last or how Riot plans to fix the problem.
